Pakistan vs New Zealand 1st T20 Cricket Highlights - 4th December, 2014. Pak vs New Zealand 1st T20 at Dubai International Stadium. New Zealand Tour of UAE series Cricket Highlights.
It was first T20 of the two-match series today. Pakistani Captain Shahid Afridi won the toss and elected to bowl first due to the due factor at Dubai International Stadium.
Ahmed Shehzad, Wahab Riaz & Umar Gul didn't get a chance as Shehzad was in Fever according to the management & Wahab, Gul's exclusion is still a question mark for us, As they both were very fit!
Playing first, New Zealand was able to score some good runs till 15th over, they were 110-4 in 15th over. But that 16th over by young and talented Off-Spinner Raza Hassan changed the match for Kiwis, He took very important wicket of Corey Anderson who was going towards his maiden t20 fifty. Missed out his fifty by couple of runs.
Pakistani bowlers controlled the game in last 5 overs by giving 25 runs and picking some important wickets. New Zealand gave the target of 135 in 20 overs to Pakistan. Openers Sarfraz Ahmad and Awais Zia gave a good start by scoring 50 runs. Awais Zia & Mohammad Hafeez got run out, Youngster Haris Sohail who looked technically sound, was unlucky to get out after playing that kinda cracking shot, Great catch it was. In the end Umar Akmal & Sarfraz Ahmed made the Partnership and finished the match. Umar Akmal scored 27 runs in just 14 deliveries while Sarfraz Ahmed went unbeaten on 76 runs.
Pakistan won the match by 7 wickets & now leads the two-match T20 series by 1-0. Second & last T20 will be played tomorrow at the same time.
