Hobart Hurricanes started the season by an excellent win over Melbourne Stars, consigned the opposition to their second defeat of the Tournament. After winning the toss, Melbourne Stars started brilliantly by taking three wickets for just 31 runs. But fourth wicket partnership between BR Dunk & JW Wells of 90 runs in 10.2 overs, was a turning point for the opposition, both played amazingly & given their team some precious runs. On the other hand, Melbourne Stars' highest partnership was off 31 runs; they were totally outclassed by Hobart Hurricanes. In the end, Hobart Hurricanes won the match by 52 runs.
