Ind vs SL - Match Summary

SL won the toss & elected to bat first today, as they wanted to a win after a big first ODI match loss. Playing first, SL scored just 274 in fifty overs. Angelo Mathews! the warrior, once again with a 92*. Mathews is really unluck that he couldn't score his maiden ODI century yet. Today he missed out another chance by just 8 runs.

However, Mathews scored 92 runs in 101 balls with 10 fours & a six. The second highest scorer of the innings was Sangakkara, He score 61 runs in 86 balls with 4 fours. His strike rate was li'l low, no doubt about it, but his role was to make a partnership with dilshan & put his team in a strong position. Dilshan & Sanga build a partnership of 51 runs, Unfortunately, Dilshan was bowled by Patel after scoring 35 runs. The next big partnership (Highest of the innings though) was between Sanga & Angelo, Contributing 42 & 46 runs respectively.
Sanga caught by dhawan after 61 runs. Prasanna stayed a bit at the crease, & scored 13 runs after facing 14 balls. Mathews needed a partner to stay with him, But unfortunately, Middle order just got hammered by Indian bowlers, no one stayed with Angelo axcept Prasad. Priyanja, Thisara & Randiv didn't click. The last partnership was between Prasad & Mathews of 54* runs. But the credit goes to Indian bowlers, they bowled exceptionally well in the death overs. They didn't allow to Mathews to go for shorts, He tried a lot, but was unable to hit big hits, even there was almost nothing for the bowlers.
Akshar bowled a brilliant spell of 2/39.

India's turn now, as they are very good at chasing, the target of 275 on the pitch like that, was not difficult for India. Rayudu scored his Maiden ODI Century & build a partnership with Dhawan & Kohli, 122 & 116 runs respectively. Rayudu scored 121 of 118 balls & hit 10 fours & 4 sixes. Second highest scorer was Dhawan, He scored 79 runs off 80 balls, with 7 fours and a six. Unfortunately, Virat Kohli missed out his fifty just by one run today! Huhhh..

India chased the target of 275 in 44.3 overs & won the match by 6 wickets.
