New Zealand vs Sri Lanka 1st Test Day 2 - Cricket Highlights

New Zealand vs Sri Lanka 1st Test Day 2 - Cricket Highlights

Sri Lanka were looking for a lot in the pitch, which was not there hence they were caught in between, we could see the difference in the second innings and with New Zealand, their fast bowlers Southee and Boult, did a great job, tremendous bowling. It was really good to see Sri Lankan openers in second innings, while following on, they were proactive between the wickets, so they were busy all the time and they left the bowl very well, they kept it simple in second innings unlike the first one. Sometimes you create your own daemons by thinking the pitch gonna do a lot, yes, there was a little bit, bit of extra bounce. But, not totally unplayable, they would have learnt that by looking at all their dismissals.

It's a good day to be a batsmen, if you're playing the Boxing-Day Test at the MCG. Plenty of runs scored, India 108 for 1, trailing by 422. It's the first time that Indian opener managed to score four 50+ runs on a tour to Australia, Murali Vijay has now most 50+ scores overseas against Australia.  Vijay has batted beautifully though, He has done an exceptional job. Pujara, little bit lucky, got a chance, great opportunity for him to cash-in on that dropped chance, because He won't get better conditions anywhere else to bat. After having gotten set again, Shikhar Dhawan just playing a loose shot, there have been lots of batting experts talking about his technical flaws. He's not getting the results he wants, Shikhar needs to control his termparament. Since the tour of England, Shikhar's average is only 26.67 with one fifty in the last test at Brisbane, He's gotta work something out. Steven Smith got his career best score today of 192. 21.5 is the percentage of runs that Steven Smith alone has got for Australia in this calendar year, He's had an extraordinary year. In 2014, scored 1132 runs at an average of 87.07, in 9 matches, 5 Hundreds as well. He has also got runs away from Australia in this period, He's now at number one in the list of Top Australian Batsmen in 2014. That's not a bad move to make, to go from 32 and fighting for your place to 87 and Captaincy as well, that's a phenomenal turnaround.

New Zealand vs Sri Lanka 1st Test, Day 1 - Cricket Highlights

After winning the toss, Sri Lanka took 7 wickets of the opposition & gave away 429 runs in a day, Courtesy, Brendon McCullum's 195 runs. Playing with the Strike Rate of 145.52 in a test match, it's something phenomenal. But, unfortunately, He missed out his another double century in Tests. Coach Craig McMillan agrees that Brendon McCullum is the most destructive batsmen to have played for New Zealand. Kane Williamson, once again, carrying on his form by scoring another fifty, scored 54 runs, but could not convert it into hundred, unfortunately. James Neesham played wonderfully & gave his team 85 runs, unfortunately, He missed out his Century too. Ross Taylor, unluckily, got a run out from Silva, otherwise, He would have contributed along with McCullum :p
On the other Hand, that was a bad day for visiting team, that's what I can say. :p Nightmare debut for PHT Kaushal, He bowled 22 overs that too with the Economy of 7.22 in a test match, I repeat, in a test match, courtesy, McCullum, as you all know.
Hope, you guys will Enjoy McCullum's furious innings as well as Highlights of this match, Watch it below, don't forget to share with your loved ones :-)

Dean Elgar & Faf du Plessis made their day, South Africa's of course.. :p Dean Elgar's Test century & unbeaten 99 from Faf du Plessis put their team in a dominant position today, both batsmen benefited from missed chances. AN Petersen didn't do much, scored 17 runs. Six bowlers have been used by D Ramdin today; KK Peters & ST Gabriel got one wicket each, you can not say that they were successful today, however.

Lots of batting left for tomorrow, maybe, we'll see some furious innings like Brendon McCullum did it against Sri Lanka, today by AB de Villiers or F du Plessis himself.. :p

So, like most of the series apart from what the scoreline tells you, the first day of the Boxing-Day Test is also been pretty even. 259-5, Australia's score after winning the toss. It's been hard to score, its been a slow wicket. It's been a good pitch to bat on, but because of the slowness of the pitch; it became difficult for Australia to score some runs against inexperienced bowling line-up of India. India had Australia six down at the Gaba in the first innings, but, it's close to the best they have bowled in the innings, they have done a good job and there is a chance of winning the match for India. It's a hard-working wicket whether you're a Bowler or a Batsmen you need to show a bit more patience, interestingly, both teams have done that today. Muhammad Shami came back very well, after the morning session, He picked up couple of important wickets, He's been the pick of the bowlers today.
Steven Smith has just 20 odd Test Matches, which is very very early to be a savior. .:p 1000 runs in 2014 which is a phenomenal for someone who's starting his test career. Shaun Marsh never looked in any trouble today, it's almost like He had a brain explosion there and again himself and Shane Watson are probably fighting for places, He would have been disappointed in that shot for sure.  Since Ricky Ponting has stopped batting at number 3 average of Australia's number 3 batsmen is 28.47, its the worst amongst all test teams in that period. Also, there are 14 ducks by Australia's number 3 batsmen after Ricky Ponting's retirement, most by any test playing nation, of course.

South Africa vs West Indies 2nd Test Day 1 - Live Cricket Streaming

South Africa are in a series win here, at Port Elizabeth, where the story of the second test is all about injury. The home-side are without their wicket-keeper Quinton de Cock, He will be out of cricket for about three months. They're also be without the spinner Robin Peterson who cut the finger on his bowling hand in practice, three days before match. That force South Africa to bring in Imran Tahir, for test re-call after He was dropped for the series. It's also an indication that South Africa will not go all pace as they did in Centurion, in Port Elizabeth pitch is a bit slower and they will need some other options. This Venue is where West Indies won the only test victory against South Africa, that was in 2007, it was also a Boxing Day Test Match and there are some good memories for them to call on there some real intent shown in the batting with the score over 350 and then their bowlers really slice through a South Africa that would taken a back by team that should have beaten. Whether West Indies will be able to do that again there are a lot of people doubting it, given the state of their Cricket and the dominance of South Africa in that first test, but if they can, even if they can show a little bit of fight could make things interesting as we go into third test in Cape Town.

As rain delayed the toss & reduced the match to 19 overs, Hobart Hurricanes won the toss & to bat first. Hobart Hurricanes scored 154 for 8 in 19 overs & gave the target of 155 to Sydney Sixers. Nic Maddinson gave Sydney Sixers a blistering start by scoring 29 off just 12 balls. Hobart Hurricanes, unchanged, did not make full use of their decision as it was a very good pitch with small boundaries. George Bailey, the lone warrior for Hurricanes tonight, was the only reason for the total of 154. George Bailey scored 71 off just 44 deliveries, and rest of the 7 batsmen scored just 80 runs in 70 balls. Sydney Sixers were 86 for 1 at the end of ninth over courtesy Michael Lumb's awesome innings. Moises Henriques & Jordan Silk batted till the end & finished the match in their own way :-)
They batted with poise & calm, they did not strike any boundary for their first 4.5 overs, but they did running very well. Two excellent bowling performances by Lee & Henriques, Henriques collected Man Of The Match. Impressive figures for Henriques of 2 for 22, from his four over spell, Brett Lee took 3 for 34 though.
At the end, Sydney Sixers won the match by 7 wickets.

Harris Sohail's 65 In Series Decider - Cricket Highlights - 2014

©AFP
Harris Sohail, started his innings little slow, He had scored 18 in 36 balls, Played with the Strike Rate of almost fifty, That was due to pressure of falling wickets. But He played well, Scored 65 runs in 74 balls, Improved his strike rate at the end.
But He just could not stayed there till the end, If He had stayed till the end, There were chances for Pakistan to win the match. But unfortunately, He was making a mistake, giving himself too much room while trying to play big shots every now and then.
